Grand Prix New York to Offer Music and Dance Classes for Children
Grand Prix New York , a state-of-the-art entertainment facility in Mount Kisco, will be expanding their offerings to include Spins Music.
Starting this September, Grand Prix New York (GPNY), a state-of-the-art entertainment facility in Mount Kisco, will be expanding their offerings to include Spins Music & Arts. This new program will offer music and dance classes to children from 0-6 years old.
The new addition enhances a long list of entertainment options offered by GPNY, including indoor go kart racing, Spins Bowl, arcade, Arts Garage, bouncy castle and the Fuel restaurant, which provide fun for all ages. Spins Music & Arts will be exclusively for the kids, with each class focusing on different skills and activities.
“Spins Music & Arts will be another addition to GPNY’s extensive list of entertainment offerings for children,” said Cathy Hagen, General Manager at GPNY. “It’s been proven that early learning of music and dance can benefit children later in life and we’re excited to offer a program like this for them to enjoy and benefit from.”

Studies have shown that participation in music and dance in the early stages of life has a positive effect on children later on. Dance helps build self-confidence and improves and increase heart, lung and body strength, motor skills, and brain power. Music classes help build social and communication skills in children from 0-6 years old. The American Academy of Pediatrics identified early brain development – which music and dance are catalysts for – as a measure of strong social, emotional and language skills and lifelong health.
These interactive music, dance, art and creative play classes lead children to make their own discoveries, involve parents and caretakers, or have them work together as a musical or dance group. They’ll involve both technical and exploratory activities, including singing songs and tonal patterns, playing instruments, learning ballet technique and hip hop moves, playing with props, and exploring creativity and imagination in other fun ways.

Spins Music & Arts classes will be led by professional Broadway singers and dancers, Katie Tomlinson Diamond and Kara Tremel, who are experienced in teaching music and dance classes to children, teens and adults. Both Katie and Kara were recently in the Broadway production of Jersey Boys.
“Having dedicated over fifteen years to teaching voice, acting, and musical performance to children, I’ve seen the positive effects programs like this can have,” said Spins Music & Arts Teacher, Katie Tomlinson Diamond. “Among other benefits, there is an established link between music training and spatial reasoning in young children, so as a community we should be encouraging children to take part in these kinds of activities. I look forward to seeing what we can create at Grand Prix NY.
