Horace Greeley's girl's basketball team is on a roll. With only a couple games left in the regular season, the girls from Greeley have been using this home stretch to add to their record and prepare for the postseason. Greeley continued its strong play and defeated rival Fox Lane 70-54 on Wednesday.
Riding a four-game winning streak, the Quakers went into the first quarter with a lot of momentum. From tipoff, the Foxes took possession of the ball, but even though they pushed into Greeley's defensive zone with a strong offense, they were unable to score, missing a couple of opportunities.
The Quakers got on the board first with senior forward Sammy Ray grabbing a rebound and making an inside basket. From the first basket Greeley took control of the quarter, thwarting the Foxes' offense and pushing the ball out of their zone fast. Quick, precise passing led to some easy scores.
