Greeley Student Is Finalist In Regeneron Science Talent Search
The 40 finalists now compete for $1.8 million more in prizes in an 8-day virtual event.
CHAPPAQUA, NY — Holly Cheng, a student at Horace Greeley High School, is one of the finalists in the annual Regeneron Talent Search, the nation’s oldest and most prestigious science and math competition for high school seniors.
Each finalist, selected from 1,993 entrants, will receive $25,000 and gather online from July 21-29 to compete for more than $1.8 million in awards, undergoing a rigorous virtual judging process and interacting with leading scientists.
On July 29, the Regeneron Science Talent Search will announce its top student winners at a virtual event.

The finalists are using advanced research to spark conversation, shape policy and address global challenges such as the refugee crisis, climate change, cybersecurity and more. Cheng's project: Modulating Fetal Globin Levels Using CRISPR/Cas9 in an in vitro Mouse Cellular System.
