Mendelssohn’s oratorio is a profound musical tribute to Saul, the zealous Pharisee who turns from being a fanatical enemy of Christians into the most influential apostle of the faith, St. Paul. Influenced by Handel and Bach, Mendelssohn’s counterpoint is fresh and original, with exquisite instrumental coloration, soulful arias and choruses, and a powerful double fugue.

Join the 120 voices of the Greenwich Choral Society in the beautiful O’Byrne Chapel at Manhattanville College for “Radiant Certainty,” a springtime celebration of Mendelssohn’s “Saint Paul.”

This performance features; Janinah Burnett, soprano*; Scott B. Joiner, tenor; Justin Ryan, baritone; with a full orchestra.

A cornerstone of the Fairfield County music scene, Greenwich Choral Society presented its first concert in 1925 with a complement of 30 singers. Since then the group has grown to over 120 singers under the leadership of Music Director, Paul F. Mueller.
