Indian Point Unit 3 Back in Service

It had been pulled off Sept. 15 to replace water seals.

Indian Point’s Unit 3 nuclear power plant returned to service Friday, generating electricity, officials said.

Control room operators had removed the plant from service on Sept. 15 for a planned maintenance shutdown to replace two water seals that sit between the lid of the reactor and the reactor vessel. The seals were replaced prior to returning the plant to service.
