Job Openings at IBM, on New List of Best Companies for Employees
Learn about these and other opportunities on Chappaqua-Mount Kisco Patch.
MOUNT KISCO, NY — Forbes has the verdict out on which companies are America's best employers. One of them is IBM — part of a quartet of Hudson Valley corporations that made the magazine's list. IBM, headquartered in Armonk, was ranked No. 366 on the list.
To compile the rankings, Forbes worked with research firm Statista. The firm surveyed 30,000 American workers to collect opinions on the companies they work for. The most important factor in determining the rankings were how likely employers were to recommend their company to friends and family. Employees were also asked to recommend other companies, which also factored into the rankings, but to a lesser degree. Costco, Google and REI rank at the top on Forbes' list of 500 best large employers.

The section on careers on IBM's website includes a concept called "new collar" jobs. It's essential in today's economy to differentiate from the old division between "blue collar" and "white collar" jobs, the company says.
The company has three "new collar" job openings in Poughkeepsie at one of the newest IBM Design Studios, where 10,000 square feet of space has been transformed into an open Agile Space:
