The close of the year will bring the opening of menswear retailer Jos. A. Bank in the vacant store front at 36 Main St. in Mount Kisco. The space was formerly occupied by - and still bears the sign of - Dance Connection. The company has submitted the applications for building permits and expects to start construction on their new store by the end of the month, according to Joan Simon of NAI Friedland Realty.
Because of its good credit and the draw of its name, Jos. A. Bank beat out many other businesses - such as restaurants - that were interested in the 3,500 square foot building, Simon said. The lease was brokered at the end of July by Tom Rettaliata of Ripco Real Estate (on the tenant's side) and Friedland's Joan Simon for El Kam Realty (on the owner's side).
The new location will be part of the company's store expansion program, which involves a push to open between 30 to 40 new stores by the end of this year.
