KG+D Architects Announces Team Promotions

KG+D Architects of Mount Kisco, NY is pleased to announce the promotion of three of the firm's staff members

KG+D Architects, PC, a full-service Mount Kisco, NY-based architectural firm, is pleased to announce the promotion of three of the firm’s staff members. Sarah Weissman Dirsa, Stephanie Du, Robert A. Fendler and Laurie Hillman-Johnsson have been named Associates of the firm.

  • Sarah Weissman Dirsa, AIA, LEED AP, BD+C, SEED of Mount Kisco, NY joined KG+D in 2015 as a project manager. Prior to joining the team, Sarah was the founding Director of HOK IMPACT, HOK’s global approach to Corporate Social Responsibility. Sarah’s architectural work includes commercial, education, healthcare, auditorium, residential, aviation and retail design. Sarah earned her Master of Architecture and Master of Urban Design degrees from Washington University in St. Louis and a Bachelors of Arts in English from Binghamton University in Binghamton, NY and in 2015 she was awarded the AIA National Young Architect’s award. As part of the KG+D team, Sarah has managed projects for Brewster Central School District, Fairview Country Club, Central and Northern Westchester YMCA and Chappaqua Crossing.
  • Stephanie Du, AIA, LEED AP, of Pleasantville, NY joined KG+D in 2015 as a project manager. Stephanie has extensive experience in healthcare design and she also specializes in K-12 educational facility design and science and technology projects. Stephanie gained experience at several local firms, but began her career in Beijing, China. Stephanie earned a Bachelor of Architecture at Xiamen University. As part of the KG+D team, Stephanie has managed projects for Brewster Central School District, Westchester County’s Merestead Mansion and the Caramoor Center for Music and the Arts.
  • Robert Fendler, Assoc. AIA of Scarsdale, NY originally joined in 1999 and after a 4-year tenure, gained experience at various positions with firms throughout the county before rejoining KG+D in 2015 as a project manager. Robert is a graduate of SUNY Farmingdale and is an adjunct professor at Westchester Community College teaching all levels of AutoCAD and REVIT, as well as a lecturer at SUNY Purchase on Auto AD for Interior Designers. As part of the KG+D team, Robert has managed major projects for Middletown Enlarged City School District.
  • Laurie Hillman-Johnsson, AIA, LEED AP of White Plains, NY joined KG+D in 2015 as a project manager. Laurie has gained valuable experience throughout her career and has specific experience in laboratory design as well as school design and construction. Laurie earned her Bachelor of Science from Cornell University and her Master of Architecture from the University of Buffalo. As part of the KG+D team, Laurie has managed projects for Middletown Enlarged City School District, Somers Central School District and Yale University Graduate Housing.

Sarah, Stephanie, Robert and Laurie have all contributed significantly to the firm’s growth and success and their promotions reflect the firm’s commitment to building a strong and dynamic team, as well as their continued ability to deliver the highest quality of service to clients.
