Lane Closures on I-684 Start Monday

Motorists are advised that nighttime lane closures are expected on Interstate 684 between Exit 3 (Route 22) and Exit 4 (Route 172) beginning Monday, April 18 through Friday, April 22 for utility work, weather permitting

Double lane closures for the northbound side of Interstate 684 are expected to occur between 9 p.m. on Monday, April 18 to 5 a.m. Tuesday, April 19 and between 9 p.m. on Tuesday, April 19 to 5 a.m. Wednesday, April 20.

Double lane closures for the southbound side of Interstate 684 are expected to occur between 9 p.m. on Wednesday, April 20 to 5 a.m.Thursday, April 21 and between 9 p.m. on Thursday, April 21 to 5 a.m. Friday, April 22.

Drivers are asked to use caution when traveling through the work zone area and pay particular attention to all traffic control devices, including signs and flaggers.

Motorists are reminded that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.
