Lohud Speaker Series with Carol Evans, founder of Working Mother Media

March 16 in Armonk

The Lohud Influencer Speaker Series, which debuted last month, will feature Carol Evans, founder of Working Mother Media, on March 16 at Whippoorwill Hall in Armonk.

The series, hosted by Engagement Editor Swapna Venugopal Ramaswamy, showcases leaders in varied fields who have chosen to call the Lower Hudson Valley home. The proceeds from the events, held at various locations, will benefit local nonprofit organizations.

Evans, who helped found "Working Mother Magazine" in 1978, became the first working mom to own the company in August 2001. She has launched several key initiatives including Best Companies for Multicultural Women, Best Law Firms for Women and Best Companies for Hourly Workers.

Evans, now President Emeritus of Working Mother Media, left in 2015 to start Carol Evans Enterprises, which helps to guide companies in the advancement of women.

Her talk at the North Castle Library, is titled: "Women at Work: How are U.S. Women Doing and What’s Next for Gender Equality?" It will benefit the March of Dimes.
