Managing Your Diabetes in Southeast
This workshop helps you reduce the impact of Type 2 Diabetes on your life.

The Diabetes Self Management Program, a free six week workshop to reduce the impact of Type 2 Diabetes, will take place at the Julia L. Butterfield Memorial Library, 10 Morris Avenue, Cold Spring. The Tuesday morning sessions, from 9:30 to 11:30am, will begin March 24 and run to April 28.
Diabetes affects 25.8 million people and is a leading cause of death in the U.S. population. Left uncontrolled diabetes is a cause of kidney failure, non-traumatic lower limb amputation, new cases of blindness, and a major cause of heart disease, stroke and hospitalizations.
For individuals living with diabetes managing symptoms and maintaining an active, fulfilling life can be challenging. Workshop sessions address key topics including monitoring your blood sugar, a healthy eating plan, preventing or delaying complications, physical activity, dealing with stress and difficult emotions, working with your health care professional and making an action plan.
