A Modern Nutcracker at the Mount Kisco Library

Body Action presents a twist on Act II of the classic holiday story the Nutcracker. As Clara drifts into her dream world after receiving a Nutcracker from her godfather she arrives in the Land of Earthly Delights where flowering Earth, mighty Fire, rushing Water, and crisp Air present Clara with a festival in her honor.
This story, set to the original composition by Tchaikovsky, has become infamous for its numerous ballet adaptations. Now, Body Action adapts the Nutcracker for modern and contemporary choreography, filling the holiday favorite with a new energy and form that has never been seen.

Body Action is the children and teens resident modern dance company at the Dance Nyaad school in Bedford Hills, NY. Body Action was formed with the intention of providing children the opportunity to learn and perform modern dance choreography and give what they have learned back to the community. Dancers are selected through a stringent audition process.
