Most students don't know how to study
Chappaqua Learning Center is teaming up with S4 Study Skills to teach students specific tools to create homework habits and lower stress.
It’s a hard to believe that this fact led to the creation of S4 Study Skills. The truth is that most middle and high schools focus on teaching your student subject matter, not how to study the subject. And in today’s rigorous environment, even the brightest student can be overwhelmed.
Because of this, most parents don’t know how to support their student’s homework practice. The beginning of a new school year is the best time to create a family homework routine when the teachers hand out syllabuses and share their expectations of the year ahead. Chappaqua Learning Center and S4 Study Skills is teaming up to offer Essential Study Skills workshops for middle and high school students starting Sunday, Sept. 20th.
You want the best for your child

Habit 1 - Be proactive: “Take action and take responsibility. This is the basis of all further habits and a cornerstone of success.”
When your child completes an S4 workshop, they will learn valuable tools needed to study effectively and efficiently. In addition, for each session, you will receive an email outlining what has been taught, so you know exactly what your student learned and how your student should apply it to their work. And together you can apply it and create your own family homework habit.

How do I know my child will benefit from a workshop?
All students can improve the process by which they study, especially students that are:
- Already motivated and high performing
- Spending too much, or too little, time on homework
- Unsure of how to study
- Transitioning to middle or high school
- Getting inconsistent grades
- Not performing at their potential
- Disorganized, distracted, and procrastinates
- Ineffective, inefficient in their study practice
