Mt. Kisco Partners In Prevention Appoints New Coordinator

New Leader at Coalition Aims to Keep Mt. Kisco Youth Drug- and Alcohol-free, Engage Community Support

Mount Kisco Partners In Prevention has a new coordinator at the helm. Domingo Maceira, LCSW-R, will be introduced at the group's monthly meeting on November 9, 2016 at 7pm at Town Hall, Second Floor, 104 Main Street, Mount Kisco, NY. Also on the agenda for that meeting is for Maceira to receive input from the community on how best the Coalition can serve Mount Kisco's youth. The meeting is open to the public. Parents, school administrators, community leaders and coalition members are encouraged to attend.

As a licensed clinical social worker, Maceira, has an extensive background in mental health and substance abuse. Maceira was with the Westchester County Department of Community Mental Health for 25 years as a therapist and administrator working at the County's Yonkers Clinic and at the County's Correctional Health Division at the county jail.

“I am looking forward to engaging as many people as possible in our community-wide effort to help our youth stay drug- and alcohol-free. I have seen first hand the challenges substance misuse can do to an individual, to the family unit and to the community, but I also see the tremendous opportunity for us to work together so that our youth can make informed choices and lead healthy lifestyles,” said Maceira who started in his new capacity at the beginning of October.

Maceira is a resident of Pound Ridge and grew up in Mount Kisco, having graduated from Fox Lane High School. Both of his adult-aged sons also attended FLHS and his wife is an assistant teacher at Hillcrest Middle School.

He completed his Bachelor's Degree at Davis and Elkins College in West Virginia and his Masters Degree at Columbia University.

As the Coordinator for the Mount Kisco Partner In Prevention, Maceira plans to build upon the amazing platform of accomplishments already achieved by the Coalition under the direction of Dr. Nan Miller by engaging as many of the community sectors as possible with the Coalition's effort to help youth stay drug- and alcohol-free.
