New Mobile App Gives Mt. Kisco Some Buzz

Mount Kisco has a new mobile presence in the form of an app that is backed by the village's chamber of commerce.

The app is called Mt. Kisco Buzz and provides several features meant to give an enhanced local experience. According to the app's description they include GPS-based coupons, guides for local retail, businesses and restaurants, local news and upcoming events.

The app was designed by Mike Wolfe of WAM Enterprises, which provides social media marketing. 

“The idea is to connect the community and the merchants together and allow us to offer promotions or coupons or keep people aware of current events," said Wolfe, who is on the chamber's board.

The app was slowly rolled out in September, Wolfe said, while the chamber announced its launch on Nov. 16 in a press release (click here for it, via PR Newswire).

"The way people connect and obtain information is changing," chamber President Phil Bronzi said in the press release. "We wanted to create something the Mount Kisco Chamber of Commerce members, local businesses, residents, and tourists could use to connect with each other. People can now go to one place in Mount Kisco for news, events, and to find local businesses. It's very exciting for the chamber and our community."

There will be a marketing push for the app, Wolfe said. It will include placing QR codes on store windows. In addition, the chamber will have a blog on its website to augment its existing online presence.

The app is available in versions for iOS (iPhone and iPad) and Android.
