Owner of Ex-Deer Park Tavern to Open New Place in Chappaqua
The new restaurant, currently without a name, is anticipated to open in November.
Roy Reeves, owner of the former Deer Park Tavern in Katonah, plans to open a new eatery in downtown Chappaqua, with an opening currently slated for early November.
“I thought it was a great town, great opportunity," Reeves said, noting that Deer Park had a large following in Chappaqua.
The new arrival should be welcome news for people in Chappaqua, as some - New Castle town officials included - want to see more active nighlife in the downtown area.

The restaurant, described by Reeves as “New American, casually upscale," will combine elements of both Deer Park and , a Ridgefield, CT establishment that Reeves also owns.
Reeves has not decided yet on a name for the place, but has ruled out using the Deer Park Tavern name. Deer Park, in January 2010, by a 7,000-square foot, 2-story office building. In explaining his decision not to build another restaurant on the Katonah site, Reeves said that regulations for things such as wetlands, septic and setbacks would have resulted in a smaller place with fewer tables, which was not economical for him.
