Photos: Blessing the Animals at St. Francis of Assisi Parish

Event coincides with feast of St. Francis of Assisi.

On Sunday the St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Mount Kisco held a blessing of the animals, which marks the beginning of the feast of St. Francis of Assisi himself.

Father Steven Clark said that St. Francis of Assisi was known to "praise God's creations," referring to animals.

Folks who came brought their pets, including dogs, a cat, a guiena pig, a snake and hamsters, according to Clark. Below is a series of photos, featuring pets.
