Little league teams kick off spring season with annual Chappaqua parade.
Downtown Chappaqua came alive early Saturday morning, as kids marched in the opening day parade for the New Castle Baseball and Softball Association.
The procession was marked by homemade banners large and small, with teams taking names from major leage baseball teams or colleges.
The parade kicked off on Senter Street, next to the town's Community Center, went down South Greeley Avenue and finished on Recreation Field.

The little league's kick off is a big event for the community. Addressing the large crowded from the park's gazebo, Chris Hildenbrand, president for the NCBSA, noted that it has almost 1,000 kids playing. Hildenbrand praised parents for their support and work.
The kids, in kindergarten to fourth grade, got a chance to showcase their banners at the gathering, as part of a contest that included pizza party certificates as prizes for each age group. After the festivities, kids got ready to play ball with skills games.
