Praise for Lange's Deli and Little Store from Hope's Door

Quietly contributing to their neighbors as a matter of routine

The folks at Hope’s Door, the shelter for abused women in Westchester County, wrote this press release to praise Lange’s Deli in Chappaqua:

Local residents know that whether it is a winter snow storm or a sunny summer day, Lange’s Deli and Little Store in Chappaqua is open. Rich Lange and his daughter Vicki are there with a smile welcoming their customers. It is small businesses like this throughout Westchester County that make living here so special because they care about the community they live in. For the Langes, it’s not a tagline, but, a way of life. They are regularly giving back to charities, sports teams and local organizations as well as people in need.

“We are very lucky,” says CarlLa Horton, Executive Director of Hope’s Door, “to be surrounded by such a supportive and generous community. The Lange family and their caring staff are a perfect example of continued and big-hearted support.”

The popular eatery in Chappaqua serves up more than great food. Every week for the past nine years, Martha Kohn, former vice president of the Board of Directors of Hope’s Door, stops by the store to pick up generous quantities of food that the Lange family donates for the agency’s victims and their children. “The children are always so excited to see what’s in each container and the women are is so appreciative of all Rich Lange and his team does for them,” says Ms. Kohn.

Hope’s Door, based in Pleasantville, this year celebrated its 35th year of service to victims of domestic violence and their families.
