Evelyn Farkas, Democratic candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives and former Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense under President Obama, has announced that Rep. Seth Moulton (D-MA) and Serve America, the group he founded to elect service-oriented leaders, have endorsed her campaign to succeed retiring Rep. Nita Lowey in New York’s 17th Congressional District.

"Evelyn spent years fighting for democracy abroad before she realized how much our own democracy needs to be defended here at home,” said Moulton. “She has the foreign policy expertise and experience it will take to repair our international relationships and protect our democracy from those who seek to undermine it. America will be safer with Evelyn in Congress, and I’m glad to be standing with her."

Rep. Seth Moulton founded Serve America in the aftermath of Donald Trump’s 2016 election to help bring leaders to Capitol Hill who have actively extended themselves in service to America.

Moulton has exemplified what it means to serve our nation with dignity and honor, ” Farkas said. “In Congress, I look forward to working with Seth to deliver for the American people—restarting our economy in a way that leaves no one behind, addressing the existential threat of climate change, and fostering a culture of service in our nation."

Marcy Kaptur (D-OH), Lois Frankel (D-FL), Annie Kuster (D-NH), Julia Brownley (D-CA) and Tom Malinowski (D-NJ).
