Chappaqua School District Budget Passes

This year, residents voted by absentee ballot due to the new coronavirus pandemic.

NEW CASTLE, NY — Residents in the Chappaqua school district voted to approve the $128.2 million school budget for 2020-21. The ballot opening and tally was held Tuesday at the Horace Greeley High School Gymnasium.

School Budget Resolution:

  • Yes : 2,664
  • No: 879

There were five people running for two open seats on the Board of Education. The incumbents both won re-election:

  • Jeffrey Mester: 890
  • Joshua Shapiro: 534
  • Jane Kimmel Shepardson: 1923
  • Deborah Smith: 1140
  • Victoria Bayard Tipp: 1743

Three people ran for one open seat on the Chappaqua Library board. Results:
