Mount Kisco Farm in Talks With Landlord
is negotiating with its landlord to stay, confirmed George Kim, a member of the owning family.

The food store, which specializes in fresh procude, flowers and Asian food ingredients, has been located in the village for 22 years and has been at its current location, 21 S. Moger Ave., for 17 years. The lease expires at the end of this month, according to Kim.

Mount Kisco's , located at 29 E. Main St., is closing and has a sale for its remaining items. Owner Laura Kaplan attributes the closure to the economy and other factors, such as the cost of cigars and taxes. She hopes to replace Smokers Harbor with a new business, a vintage boutique.
Average Rents in Mount Kisco Go Up
In a March 30 article about Mount Kisco's retail vacancies, the Westchester County Business Journal reports that retail rents are going up again. The business publication cites findings from Admiral Real Estate, which states that average rent has risen from roughly $24.25 per square foot during the third quarter of 2011, to about $26.50 towards the end of the first quarter for 2012.
Search to Fill Borders Site Continues; Barnes & Noble Looked
In the business journal's same article, it was reported that a broker for the landlord for the former site at 162 E. Main St., Property Group Partners, described talks with several prospective tenants. Among them is former bookstore chain rival Barnes & Noble. There is no deal for a new tenant, the broker told the business journal.
MyHome MyPlanet is Relocating; Tommie Copper Taking Over Old Space
has moved out of its space at Mount Kisco's 74 S. Moger Ave. to new digs elsewhere in the village, at 200 E. Main St. The move out was made at the end of March. Taking over its old space is Tommie Copper, which sells athletic compression gear. The building's landlord announced this move at a February meeting between the Village Board of Trustees and other downtown landlords.
MTK Tavern is Coming
A new bar is moving into Mount Kisco 30 E. Main St., the site of the former Katie Mac's. Called MTK Tavern, its plan on doing a soft opening in April and with a grand opening in May, according to Tweets left through its Twitter account. Recently, its building exterior was re-painted in a dark green, a contrast from the old white color.
First Niagara to Take Over HSBC's Mt. Kisco Branch by May 18
Last summer, HSBC announced that it was selling several bank branches in New York state and Connnecticut to First Niagara. The Mount Kisco branch on East Main Street is among them, according to a list of the affected branches. First Niagara has announced that the deal is expected to close for the branches on May 18.
