UPDATE: Route 120 Re-opened

The high winds blew a tree onto wires hanging over the roadway in New Castle.

3:21PM: Route 120 has been re-opened in both directions, state transportation officials announced.

Route 120 between Kipp Street and Douglas Road in New Castle is closed in both directions. The cause: a tree is hanging on wires over the road, said New Castle police in their Nixle alert.

Police said Con Ed does not yet have an estimated time of repair.

State DOT officials said the road could stay closed for approximately six hours.

The region is under a Wind Advisory till noon.
