Schraufnagel Receives Sex Offender Classification
The judge made his determination based on his risk assessment, The Journal News reports.

CHAPPAQUA, NY — The former Horace Greeley High School drama teacher at the heart of a massive scandal in the tony suburban community has been classified as a Level 3 sex offender, according to news reports.
The Journal News said New Castle Town Justice Douglas Kraus considers Christopher Schraufnagel at high risk of re-offending. His lawyer's argument about the New Jersey resident's cancer didn't sway the judge.
Level 3 means a high risk of repeat offense and a threat to public safety exists, according to the state Department of Justice. The risk level is based on the court's assessment regarding whether a particular offender is likely to repeat the same or similar registerable offense and the danger the offender poses to the community.
