World Cup in Chappaqua played host Wednesday to Destination Science, a group that teaches science to kids in a hands-on, interactive way. The event was an open house for the group, which will hold sessions at World Cup during the summer.
Several kindergarteners got to try out the program at the open house, where they learned about facts such as kinetic and potential energies, and got to learn about the science behind roller coasters.
Destination Science is active in several states, including California and Texas. It is coming to Chappaqua as part of a broader expansion into Westchester County. Other locations planned for the region include Bedford, Tarrytown, Rye, Scarsdale, White Plains, Larchmont, New Rochelle and Purchase.
Programs being offered to kids, for ages 5 to 11, will include Wacky Mega-Bot Tech, which involves building a 12-inch robot, and Astronaut Adventure Camp, which involves rocket building and learning about space life.
Check out our video of the open house, along with interviews with kids who participated.
