Greeley Ice Hockey
The below was taken from the Horace Greeley Sports Boosters website.:
PELHAM 6, GREELEY 2
The Greeley hockey season ended with a quarterfinal loss in the Sectionals to the 5th ranked team in NY State, the Pelham Pelicans at the Ice Hutch.
Greeley came in hoping for a major upset but Pelham jumped to a 1-0 lead on a controversial goal as one of the Pelicans laid on top on Greeley goaltender Neil Hershman as Pelham then found the back of the open net. Greeley finished the period down 3-1 despite keeping up with the stronger Pelham team.
Sam Mishkin rifled one in to close the gap to 3-2 but Pelicans scored quickly thereafter as one of their players coming out of the penalty box was able to slip behind the defense and get open for a breakaway shot. Pelhman then scored on two scrambles and the second period ended with Greeley down 6-2, which was the final score.
Greeley Swimming
