Sports Recap: Greeley Baseball Gains Redemption, Fox Lane Baseball Routs Two Opponents
Teams sought a few more wins before the season was out.
Here is a look back at the past week in sports for Fox Lane and Horace Greeley:
Fox Lane Foxes
Baseball
Fox Lane baseball redeemed themselves after a 5-3 loss against Somers to crush Carmel 19-1 and Yorktown 13-7 for a current record of 11-5. Kyle Colesanti had two RBIs in the Somers loss. Donny Castaldo ran in three RBI's against Carmel while Jake McGrath had two.

Softball
Fox Lane Softball ended up 12-4 for the season after winning two out of four games. After a 7-6 narrow victory over John F. Kennedy Catholic High School behind two RBI from Toni-Ann Licata, the Foxes lost two out three games, 6-0, and 6-5, winning the third 3-1.

Boys Lacrosse
After two consecutive wins over Clarkstown South High School and Harrison, Fox Lane's boys lacrosse team lost a close one to the Horace Greeley Quakers, 7-6, behind 14 saves from Cameron Stephens for a current record of 11-4. George Lodge had five combined goals between the last two games.
Girls Lacrosse
Fox Lane Girls Lacrosse is currently on a two game winning streak after convincing wins over Rye, 17-10, and Somers 23-10 behind ten saves from Jenn Pollock. Lindsay Toppe led the Foxes with seven goals with Lexi Cannon scoring five.
Horace Greeley Quakers
Baseball
Horace Greeley baseball redeemed themselves this week 3-1 over Ossining after an 8-5 loss to the John Jay Indians behind two RBI from Sam Gladstone and Andres Larramendi to currently stand at 12-2-1.
Softball
Quaker softball won two out of three games this week, sweeping John Jay 11-0 in the first game behind two RBI each from Hannah Marks, Meryl Rosenberg, and Katelyn Francese and 10-5 in the second game on Thursday to currently stand at 11-5. The Quakers lone loss of the week came at the hands of Tappan Zee 1-0.
Boys Lacrosse
Horace Greeley boys lacrosse is currently on a two game winning streak after beating Fox Lane 7-6 and Harrison 13-5, behind Nate Becker improving their record to 6-9 before their final regular season game against Rye.
Girls Lacrosse
Quaker girls Lacrosse have struggled to redeem themselves as of late suffering a 19-12 defeat to Pleasantville, followed by an 18-6 loss to the John Jay Indians and Nyack 14-6 behind five goals from Jess Kreisler, and two each from Courtney Hill, Maura Grant, and Amy Morgan to currently stand at 1-13-1.
