Westmoreland staff conducts an annual summer bird survey as part of the Greenwich-Stamford Summer Bird Count. In 2013 staff identified 57 different species of birds on the property. The staff is looking for a few volunteers to assist in identifying and counting birds present on the Westmoreland Sanctuary wildlife preserve. Interested participants should have some knowledge of local bird species as well as the ability to identify birds by sight and sound. Novices may apply to partner with a staff member or more experienced volunteer. Interested participants should call or email the office by June 6th.
