Town Supervisor Seeks Emergency Preparedness Committee Members

From Town Supervisor Robert Greenstein:

There are many emergencies that can impact New Castle. The most common are severe weather, power outages and flooding. Although these emergencies cannot be eliminated, we can reduce the risk of injuries, property damage and economic impact through individual and community preparedness. In order to prepare for a community emergency, collaboration, communication and coordination within New Castle, with neighboring jurisdictions, and with County, State, Federal and other agencies is critical. We are committed to ensuring that our community is prepared.

Each household must also commit time to develop a plan. Families must know how to get up-to-date information on the emergency. Families must consider any special needs, disabilities, family pets or particular hazards in their home. Being prepared is your best protection.

The Emergency Preparedness Committee is being established to provide community input to and assist in the Town of New Castle’s planning and preparations for emergency operations and to involve residents in providing appropriate assistance during emergency operations.
