Troopers Find Stopped Car Partly on the Road; Driver Charged with DWI

Police accuse the Mount Kisco woman of driving drunk in Southeast.

Barbara Stangl, 65, faces a charge of aggravated driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor.

Troopers conducted a welfare check on Stangl at about 11 p.m. Oct. 16 in Southeast when they came up on the vehicle she was operating stopped partially in the roadway. While interviewing her, the Mount Kisco resident displayed clues that indicated she was impaired, police said.

Stangl provided a positive breath sample that revealed a Blood Alcohol Content of .21%, more than two times the legal limit of intoxication. She is scheduled to appear before the Town of Southeast Court on Oct. 28.
