Matt Townsend (Horace Greeley '11) and his Yale teammates competed in the opening round of CollegeInsider.com Tournament against Fairfield, looking like it might be poised to make a deep run in the tournament. The Bulldogs were running on all cylinders and had a 39-26 halfitme lead in the March 14 contest.
The momentum, though, turned in a big way in the second half. The Stags picked up their defensive intensity and rallied for a 68-56 victory before a Webster Bank Arena crowd of 1,744 that included a nice Yale contingent.

Townsend contributed two made free throws to the Bulldogs' effort.

Violante Earns Honor
Fox Lane's boys basketball squad made it to the Section 1 Class AA Final Four at the Westchester County Center in White Plains and its coach, Chris Violante, was honored for his efforts as Conference III Coach of the Year according to the Bedford Central School District website.
