also has the library budget up for approval by residents.

New York residents are asked to vote on their local school district’s budget and board of education May 16. In some cases, library board and budget votes are also taking place. Here’s info on the two school districts that serve Chappaqua and Mount Kisco.
Bedford
Voters in the Bedford school district will go to the polls Tuesday to decide whether to approve budgets for the 2017-18 school year. The budget package for the Bedford Central School District is $129,072,250, up 1.79 percent from the current year’s spending plan.
There is a proposition on the ballot asking voters to approve a change in all subsequent elections. It would create at-large seats on the school board as opposed to having candidates run for a specific seat. Read more here.

It would slightly boost property taxes New Castle, where the average homeowner would pay $106.83, up 0.85 percent; due to equalization, the average Mount Pleasant homeowner would see a slight decreace of 0.99 percent to $1,370.53.
There is an additional proposition on the ballot, to reallocate some funds from the $42.5 million bond passed last year.
Six candidates are vying for two seats on the Chappaqua school board, which was roiled this past year by the high school teacher sex scandal.
Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Horace Greeley High School.
