Weekend Roaring Brook Road Improvements a Joint Effort

The project will close the right lane of the Saw Mill Parkway at Roaring Brook Road this weekend.

New York State Department of Transportation’s Commissioner Joan McDonald said today that the DOT will spend about $180,000 to improve signage, repave, and restripe the portion of Roaring Brook Road between the Saw Mill River Parkway and the Metro-North Railroad grade crossing.

The effort is part of a coordinated effort between three public agencies that will enhance and improve safety at the crossing, she said.

On the DOT’s part, the project will entail milling and filling the roadway with new asphalt; restriping the road, including some new pavement markings; installing two new signs along the northbound exit from the Saw Mill River Parkway; and replacing a sign and adding a new sign on the eastbound portion of Roaring Brook Road.
