WeeZee - The Science of Play Announces Spring 2015 Preschool and After-School Classes for Kids

WeeZee – The Science of Play, Westchester County’s only sensory gym, an 18,000 square foot play, fitness and learning facility for children ages 1-12, located in Chappaqua, NY, has announced its spring 2015 line-up of engaging classes for preschoolers and after school classes for kids ages 5 - 12. With guest instructors representing some of the New York region’s most notable experts, the new classes will start at $100 per six-week session and will run from March 16-May 1. Transportation from many local schools is available at an additional charge, and includes snack and homework help.

Registration for classes is open to WeeZee members and non-members alike.

PRESCHOOL CLASSES:

Yoga Adventures (for kids Ages 3-5)
Tuesdays 3:45-4:30pm with Leapsmart Yoga
Leapsmart gives an inventive approach to yoga through active games, music and props. Children gain body awareness, strength, flexibility, focus and relaxation. The imagery of Yoga is woven into a variety of both calm and energetic activities that delight and challenge boys and girls with such activities as Yoga obstacle courses, partnering and Yoga freeze dance! Children gain confidence and self-control while learning how to focus, relax and breathe.

Music and Movement (for parents and kids Ages 0-3)
Wednesdays 1-1:30pm with Coach Vivi,
A 30-minute music class providing the perfect amount of structured activities where children explore music, build physical coordination, and stimulate the senses, all while having fun!

Bilingual Babies (for kids ages 3 – 5, *must be potty trained)
Fridays, 1-1:30pm, with Coach Vivi
A 30-minute engaging language class where children will learn basic colors, numbers, words and songs in Spanish!

AFTER-SCHOOL CLASSES:

Engineering for Kids (for kids Ages 4-8)
Mondays 4:30-5:30pm, With Engineering for Kids
Junior Engineers learn the fundamental concepts of energy, materials, and movement. Through open and focused exploration, students explore and construct their own roller coasters, catapults, cars, and more!

Pop Star Choreography (for kids Ages 5-9)
Tuesdays 4:30-5:15pm, With Monica Levy
Learn the basics of choreography with the expert guidance of internationally known choreographer Monica Levy. You will choose music and learn how to create a professional dance from start to finish. The final result will be performed on the WeeZee stage!

Taekwondo with Master Berlow (for kids Ages 5-12)
Wednesdays, 4:30-5:15pm, with Master Chris Berlow from UMAC Briarcliff
Master Berlow is a 6th degree black belt in Taekwondo, a former national-level competitor and an avid practitioner who has been training for more than 30-years and works diligently to share his passion with as many people as he can. Uniform required, $50.

Super Science Club (for kids Ages 5-12)
Thursdays and Fridays, 4:30-5:15pm, With Jessica from Super Science Club,
Do experiments, make fizzy stuff, gooey stuff, sticky stuff, and even explosive stuff! A super fun class that explores the magic of science!
