William "Willie" McCray, Parishioner at St. Francis of Assisi
The Mount Kisco resident died Sept. 25.

WILLIAM “ Willie” McCray of Mount Kisco, NY, departed this life on September 25, 2014 at Northern Westchester Hospital, Mt. Kisco, NY.
William was born June 23, 1929 in Dade City Florida, He was raised in Tarpon Springs, Florida by his parents Beatrice McCray-Hutson and Staff Sgt. Robert Hutson U.S. Army. Willie graduated Pinellas High School Clearwater, Florida.
Early 1940’s Willie relocated to New York, as a young man he wore many hats to support himself. He performed in minstrel shows. He was a musician, his instrument of choice was the trumpet. Willie joined in on jam sessions with such jazz greats as Dizzey Gillespie and John Coltrane.

Mid 1950’s William sought and gained employment at IBM in NY retiring 1989 after serving 25 years. He was a member of Saint Francis of Assisi Parish, Mt. Kisco, NY he ushered at 9:30am Sunday Mass. He was a member of Sons of the Legions No. 136 of Mt. Kisco, he was also a member of Knights of Columbus.
Many knew him as “Little Willie” he was small in stature, with the personality of a giant. He was a permanent fixture at Shoprite supermarket, he would tell the ladies “ You’re young and beautiful” “You’re a bad Mama Jama” -- like or loath him he left an indelible foot print.

Willie leaves to mourn his passing an Aunt Selda Davis of Quincey, Fla. Cousins Jameo Davis, Quincey, Fla. Joyce Holland and Bessie Plenty both of White Plains, NY, Dorothy Parris and Queen Harris of Brooksville, Fla. “Best Friend” Gerry Fraioli of Mamaroneck, NY. A host of many family and friends.
