Wine and Woodcocks at Westmoreland Sanctuary

Enjoy a glass of wine as the sun sets and we listen and try to catch a glimpse of the one of the most unique avian displays in our country.

Woodcocks are birds that look like they should be at the ocean, but live in our fields and forests. In early spring the males take to the fields at sunset and begin their mating display. The boys emit strange noises before erupting into the air and then circling down to the ground while twittering. Adults only.
