With Rain, Mt. Kisco Fire Dept. Parade Canceled
The parade will not be rescheduled. Residents will have to wait until next year.

With rain and a storm, the Mount Kisco Volunteer Fire Department's annual parade, which was slated to begin Friday night at 7 p.m., has been canceled, according to Fire Chief Michael Boles.
The parade will not be rescheduled, and the next one is planned for next year, according to Boles.
"This is it," he said.

Earlier in the afternoon, Boles told Patch that they were going to make a decision on whether or not to hold the parade later in the day.
Going through downtown Mount Kisco, reminders of the parade could be found Friday evening, including a truck in front of the Mutual Engine & Hose firehouse on Main Street that was to have served as a viewing stand, as well as signage.

Despite being deprived of good weather, firefighters are spending the evening with their families and eating the food set aside for the event, according to Boles, who said it's a night for families to get together.
The fire department's next big event will be a ceremony for the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, which will coincide with the planned dedication of Mount Kisco's 9/11 memorial, which firefighters have spearheaded.
For those who were looking forward to a firefighters parade - fire departments throughout the region attend each other's parades - there is still a chance to view the one in Bedford Village on July 29, according to Boles.
