With Regular Season Winding Down, Foxes Skate to an 8-3 Win Over Quakers
Fox Lane's Josh Wollman and Adrian Crasto each score their first goals of the season in the victory.
Coming off two consecutive losses, the Fox Lane went into Saturday's game against Horace Greeley undeterred.
"We want to put the past behind us," Foxes Head Coach Charles Berger said.
While the Foxes skated to an 8-3 win against the Quakers at the Brewster Ice Arena, they were inconsistent. They were great in spurts but also struggled at times.

When they were at their best, they played typical Fox Lane Hockey: fast tempo, aggressive passes and stellar defensive plays. When cold, the Foxes looked sluggish, allowing the Quakers to press their defense and goalie, giving up a couple goals to the winless Greeley squad.
Even with their bouts of sluggishness, the Foxes managed to get two of their players their first goals of the season. Both Josh Wollman and Adrian Crasto scored their first two goals of the season, with Crasto scoring one in the opening seconds of the second period - which was assisted by Harry Woodhull - and another goal late in the third. Wollman scored twice in the third. One goal was assisted by Blaze Vogliano and the other was assisted by Andrew Bunyan.

Though the Quakers haven't won a game this season, they completed well against the Foxes, playing aggressively while putting a lot of pressure on the Foxes defense.
"They (the Quakers) skated really hard," Berger said.
From the start of the first period until the end of the game, the Quakers put a lot of heat on Fox Lane's defense, making smart passes and quick plays to get shots on net. Greeley Captain Ben Berkey played a great game, scoring two goals. One came on an unassisted breakaway five minutes into the second period and the other came with seconds to play in the second. That goal was assisted by Nicholas Girardi.
With the season all but over the Foxes look ahead to Monday's Section 1 Conference Game against Rye.
"If we can bring the same high tempo play we've been working on then I think we can make some noise and take the game," Berger said. "We've been working towards this all season. The team's ready and psyched to hit the ice."
Monday's Section Conference game starts at 4:30 p.m. at Rye. If the Foxes win they will go on to play for the Division II Championship.
