Wrestling: Down 2 Captains, Foxes Beat Quakers 62-22
Fox Lane was missing captains Sam Speno and Giancarlo Morreale.
A reduced roster didn't hamper wrestling team on Wednesday, as it cruised to a 62-22 win over rival .
The Foxes lost co-captains Sam Speno and Giancarlo Morreale to injuries, according to Coach Joe Amuso. Speno is expected to return to the lineup this weekend, while Morreale is expected by next week, Amuso said.
For Amuso, this season has been a landmark, marked earlrer by his 400th career win.

Greeley has generally played an underdog role when facing Fox Lane. The Quakers' preformance was in line with recent history, according to Coach Mike DeBellis. Fox Lane is one of its toughest opponents, he explained.
“They’ve been tough as long as I’ve been here," he said.

Still, Greeley is steadily improving. With 15 wins so far, it's more than the 8 earned last year and 7 two years ago, explained DeBellis.
“We’re doing great," he said about the season.
For DeBellis, key parts of the meet included a fall by Kirby Atlas in the 113-pound match against Fox Lane's Warren Gabrillo, a fall by Mike Nadler against the Foxes' Christian Magnan in the 152-pound match, and even a tough effort from Greeley's Liam Mercer against Fox Lane's Andrew Caico in the 160-pound match. Caico defeated Mercer in a decision and scored 11 points, but Mercer came away with 7 for the Quakers.
Other highlights included 16 points for Fox Lane's Tom Grippi, who defeated Greeley's Michael Orbeta in the 145-pound match that included a technical fall. Greeley's Jon Russo got 10 points and defeated Fox Lane's Steven Robare in the 126-pound match.
