'Creed' Actor Jonathan Majors Faces Domestic Violence Charges In NYC
The actor who appeared in "Creed III" and "Ant-Man" was charged Saturday with strangulation, assault and harassment, police said.

CHELSEA, NY — "Creed III" actor Jonathan Majors was arrested in Chelsea Saturday over accusations of domestic violence his attorney has since disputed, according to police.
Majors, 33, faces charges of strangulation, assault and harassment after the arrest in an apartment near West 22nd Street and Eighth Avenue about 11:15 a.m. Saturday, police said.
The woman, 30, told police she had been assaulted and was treated at a nearby hospital for head and neck injuries, said the NYPD.

The actor was arraigned in Manhattan Criminal Court Saturday and released on his own recognizance, court records show.

Major's attorney Priya Chaudry says the woman in question has since recanted her accusations, in a statement shared on Twitter by a CBS News reporter.
Chaudry said video footage from the vehicle where the pair fought, witness testimony from the driver, and the woman herself, will prove Majors's innocence.
"Jonathan Majors is completely innocent and is provably the victim of an altercation with a woman he knows," the statement reads.
"We are quickly gathering and presenting evidence to the District Attorney with the expectation that all charges will be dropped imminently."
