Commack Fire Department Sends Donations To Victims Of Hurricane Harvey
The local department began to collect supplies last week.
COMMACK, NY - The Commack Fire Department sent the first round of donations collected for the victims of Hurricane Harvey in Texas on Tuesday.
Last week, the department began to collect donations of supplies for the victims of the devastating hurricane.

- Wipes
- Baby food
- Canned food
- Dog and cat food
- Water
- Personal hygiene items
- Shampoo
- Razors
- Toothpaste

On Tuesday, the department posted photos on their Facebook page of members loading up pallets of supplies to prepare to sent out.

"It's the generosity of the community that makes us one," the Facebook post reads. "Keep in mind, we are not done, this is only the first round."
A total of 13 pallets full of supplies were sent out to Texas, according to John Bicocchi, President of the Commack Fire Department said.
"It's overwhelming the amount of donations we received in just four days," he said. "Donations have been coming in like crazy. It's nice to see the community coming together to help our neighbors in Texas."
The department will be continuing to collect donations until it "starts to slow down." Supplies can be dropped off at the department headquarters on 6309 Jericho Turnpike.
