The soulful Gail Storm will present "Women in the Blues" a study of the Classic Blues Women singers through lecture, live performance, and recordings. "Blues Queens" will include Bessie Smith, Sippie Wallace, Victoria Spivey, and Alberta Hunter. Ms. Storm will explore the Blues as a musical and expressive form and will link the Blues Queens to the modern day female Blues artists. Gail Storm is a blues/jazz vocalist/pianist who performs regularly as a soloist or band leader in the New York area.
