Northport Maritime Day &amp; Blessing of the Fleet Set for June 13
Northport, NY — The Northport Maritime Day &amp; Blessing of the Fleet will take place on Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Northport Village Park and Dock.
Coordinated by the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Northport Flotilla in partnership with the Village of Northport and the Northport Chamber of Commerce, the event celebrates Northport’s maritime past, present, and future with activities on land and water for all ages.

Event Highlights
<ul>
 <li>11:00 a.m. – Blessing of the Fleet Ceremony at Northport Village Dock </li>
 <li>Boat Parade featuring vessels from local yacht clubs and recreational boaters </li>
 <li>Dockside Vessel Tours (12:00 – 2:00 p.m.) including fishing vessels, Coast Guard and maritime response craft </li>
 <li>Maritime Activities &amp; Demonstrations (10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.)
 in Village Park </li>
</ul>

Full Day Schedule

 <li>8:00 a.m. – Northport Farmers Market opens </li>
 <li>9:00 a.m. – Northport Running Club Downhill Race </li>
 <li>10:00 a.m. – Maritime Day activities, booths, and exhibits open </li>
 <li>11:00 a.m. – Blessing of the Fleet ceremony </li>
 <li>12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. – Vessel tours at Village Dock </li>
</ul>

On the Water
More than 100 boats are expected to participate in the parade, including vessels from the Northport and Centerport Yacht Clubs as well as recreational boaters, many decorated with nautical flags.
Planned participants include vessels from:
<ul>
 <li>U.S. Coast Guard Station Eaton’s Neck </li>
 <li>U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary </li>
 <li>U.S. Merchant Marine Academy </li>
 <li>Northport Fire Department </li>
</ul>
Following the Blessing, select vessels will be available at the dock for public viewing.

In the Park
Village Park activities will include demonstrations and hands-on opportunities related to boating safety and seamanship, such as:
<ul>
 <li>Man-overboard drills </li>
 <li>Search and rescue patterns </li>
 <li>Emergency line throwing </li>
</ul>
Additional activities are expected to include:
<ul>
 <li>Children’s events such as the Rain-Gutter Regatta </li>
 <li>Marine-related exhibits and community displays </li>
 <li>Live music from local performers </li>
</ul>
Cornell Cooperative Extension Marine Program and the Northport Historical Society are expected to participate with educational displays and exhibits.

Following the Blessing of the Fleet, judges will officiate the Maritime Day contest recognizing local breweries.

The Hive Creative Studios

Two-session series June 17 and 24, 2026The stories of our lives are sometimes about significant events and heroic struggles, but can also be about unexpected awakenings in the course of an ordinary day. This workshop series provides fun, engaging creativity-generating exercises that help discover the stories that lie in true, lived experiences, and a step-by-step guide to crafting them to be shared out loud. We will look at ordinary and extraordinary life experiences through the storytelling lens, and apply the tools of story development to discover different approaches to sharing them. This can be an opportunity to work on a story you already have in mind and share different drafts to a supportive group, or discover a new one through this experiential group.
