• Valmont Survivors Park opens in Commack, honoring cancer survivors and loved ones (news12.com) — A new Survivors Park has just opened in Commack's Valmont Park, giving local cancer survivors and families a peaceful place to reflect, remember, and celebrate treatment milestones. Spearheaded by Commack resident Tom Morrissey, the ribbon-shaped park includes walking paths, benches, and a bell survivors can ring after completing treatment, with future fundraising aimed at helping local families facing cancer challenges.

See the list (ithacajournal.com) — One of the 17 Starbucks locations recently closed in New York is at 125 Crooked Hill Road in Commack, meaning local regulars will need to find a new spot for their coffee runs. The company says the closures are part of routine adjustments, and the list was compiled from online reports and store locator data after Starbucks declined to release an official roster.
