Research From Home With Your Library Card

Find yourself with extra time on your hands to tackle something because of a snow day?  Have a big job interview tomorrow, and want to do some last minute preparation?

Whatever the reason, we know that our community often wants to research at a location other than inside the physical structure of the library.  Whether at home, at work, on vacation, or on the go...you have access to a lot of information from fabulous, authoritative resources.  All you need is a way to get to our web page (www.smithlib.org) and your library card handy.
Here's what you do next:

Click on the link for "RESEARCH" on the Library's home page.

From here you can view an alphabetical list of all of the database names or you can view them grouped by subject category.

When you select a database from “outside the library” it will prompt you to enter the barcode number from your library card (or your username, if you have created one) and your password. New users can create a password at this screen. This is the same password you use to view your library account and place reserves.

Note: Some databases are licensed for in-library use only.

Happy Researching!
