8 Deer Park Students Featured In LI Museum Art Exhibit

Young artists from elementary to high school were selected for the Colors of Long Island showcase in Stony Brook.

DEER PARK, NY — Eight Deer Park students are being recognized for their artistic talent after having their work selected for display at the annual Colors of Long Island student art exhibition at the Long Island Museum.

The exhibit showcases student artwork from across the region, highlighting creativity and skill at multiple grade levels.

The Deer Park students featured in the exhibition include John Quincy Adams Primary School first grader Eliana Moreira and second grader Eliza Rinaldi-Amaral; May Moore Primary School first grader Aiden Ruiz and second grader Aria Daal; John F. Kennedy Intermediate School fifth graders Michael Salmeron Argueta and Lilly Vilorio Tran; and Deer Park High School freshman Zahra Karim and junior Kevin Mostriansky.

Their work was selected by district art teachers Briana Fayans (JFK), Samantha Racano (May Moore), Ashley Woolsley (JQA), and Rebecca Yackel (DPHS), who reviewed submissions and chose pieces that best represent the students’ creativity and artistic growth.

“The students were thrilled to see their artwork on display at such an impactful exhibit,” Fayans said. “It is always such a joy to see the hard work of students all across Long Island come together in such a colorful way.”

The Colors of Long Island exhibition is open to the public through April 12, offering visitors a chance to view a wide range of student-created artwork from across the region.
