Copiague Deli With 23 Code Violations Shut Down: PD
The manager and an employee of the deli were also arrested after a recent inspection, police say.

COPIAGUE, NY - A Copiague deli was shut down after an inspection last week, according to Suffolk Police.
Officers conducted a SLA Inspection at Chanel Grocery & Deli on 377 Oak Street on February 1 at 9:33 p.m.
As a result of the inspection the manager of the deli, 29-year-old Steward Tiburcio-Castillo, and another deli employee, 51-year-old Luz Nunez, both of Brentwood were arrested, police said.

Tiburcio-Castillo, was charged with promoting gambling and possession of gambling devices, police said.
Nunez was charged with six counts of off premise beer/allowing consumption of beer on premise and three counts of disorderly premise, police said.

In addition, the Town of Babylon Quality of Life Task Force issued 23 combined Building, Fire and Code Violations to the manager.
As a result of the violations the establishment was condemned and closed, police said.
Tiburcio-Castillo and Nunez will be arraigned at a later date.
