Crash, Car Fire Reported In North Babylon Within An Hour

NORTH BABYLON, NY - A crash and a car fire were both reported within a half mile of each other in North Babylon on Friday evening, according to the North Babylon Fire Department.

The crash was reported first at 6:20 p.m. on the Southern State Parkway westbound at exit 39.

Photos from the scene show that the car crashed into the guardrail.

All of the people in the car made it out without any serious injuries. One person was transported to Good Samaritan Medical Hospital in West Islip with non-life-threatening injuries.

Then about an hour later at t 7:23 p.m., firefighters responded to a car fire on Southern State Parkway westbound a half mile east of the crash.

No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire was not disclosed.
