Electrical Fire Destroys Deer Park Home [VIDEO]

Two people inside at the time made it out safely Monday evening, authorities say.

A Deer Park home to seven people was destroyed in a quick-moving fire Monday evening, authorities said.

The fire, believed to be electrical in nature, started around 5:30 p.m. at a home located at 324 W. 4th St.

“I was coming home from work and I saw the fire in the front of the house,” Anna Stoloff, who has owned the home since 1981, told CBS New York.

Stoloff's 16-year-old granddaughter and her husband were able to escape from the home uninjured, the report says. No one else was inside at the time.

“The fire just licked up the front of the house," Deer Park Fire Chief Anthony Biolsi told Newsday of the blaze, which was extinguished by four fire departments.

Stoloff, 66, is also losing her finance job at Dowling College, which is shutting down, Newsday reported.

Three children were among the seven people who lived in the home. Two fundraisers for the family have been set up on GoFundMe:
