Firefighters Battle Car Fire On Southern State

NORTH BABYLON, NY - Firefighters tended to an unconscious person following a car fire on the Southern State Parkway in North Babylon on Monday afternoon, according to the North Babylon Fire Department.

The fire was reported on the parkway, east of Belmont Avenue at about 1:35 p.m.

While putting out the blaze, someone drove up to the scene with an unconscious person in the car. The incident was unrelated to the fire.

Firefighters tended to the person and transported them to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip.

No injuries were reported in the fire.

The incident is still being investigated.
